ReceiptTidy is developed and operated by JnDee Tech Limited. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data, without needing to sign in.
1. How to request deletion
- In the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete account, and follow the steps.
- On the web: sign in at receipttidy.com and use the same Settings → Account → Delete account path.
- By email: write to [email protected] from the email address on your account.
2. What gets deleted, and when
Once you confirm, your account is scheduled for deletion and your login stops working immediately. Deletion begins 28 days after your request and completes within one month of it — the 28-day period is a cooling-off window during which you can contact support to cancel. If your request also deletes your whole organisation (because you're the only administrator and no one else remains), we permanently delete its receipts, files, connections and members' logins at the same time.
3. What we keep, and for how long
- Stripe invoices and the billing records the law requires us to keep are retained for their statutory period (see our Data Deletion & Retention policy) even after your account is deleted.
- Data you already published to your accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks) stays there under your control — we don't touch it.
- Production backups roll off automatically within 30 days, so a very recent deletion may still be present in a backup for up to that long before it fully ages out.
- Copies of your support conversations are deleted during the 28-day grace window described above.
4. Your own record-keeping duties
Deleting your ReceiptTidy account doesn't remove your own legal obligation to keep business records. HMRC requires limited companies to keep records for 6 years, and sole traders to keep records for at least 5 years after the 31 January deadline. Export anything you need before you delete your account — see Settings → Account → Delete account for an export link.
